What we do

The major objective of the ECI is enhancement of quality of life, conservation of natural ecosystems and biodiversity through environmentally sustainable approaches utilizing natural renewable resource base with the active participation of communities such as:

  • Initiate a process of social mobilization of communities to assist them for social uplift and welfare.
  • Seeking support from all available sources to conduct appraisals jointly with communities to form development projects for social uplift.
  • Initiate and monitor skill enhancement projects.
  • Dissemination of information and training of rural communities.
  • Develop linkages with existing human resource development training centers with the objective to organize an effective program of training for the projects.
  • Encourage communities for motivating their women to participate in community development activities.
  • Raising mass awareness on environmental issues by publication of pamphlets, newsletters, brochures, information sheets, reports, articles, posters and utilization of audiovisual media.
  • Training and networking for exchange of experience with other similar organizations and societies involved in agricultural and rural development.
  • Organize workshops, seminars and meetings on environment and sustainable development issues.
  • Undertake business to become self-supporting.
  • Conduct research on strategic issues of vital importance pertaining to environment.
